This is the game I developed for the Coursera 3D Platformer course offered by Michigan State University

Starting from the original premises of a 3D platformer located in space, I developed the main level in two main directions: making the level vertical and changing mechanics so that when an enemy is destroyed, the player's gravity is reduced.

The second change, in particular, was meant to provide a twist to the overall gameplay, making hitting enemies something that helps the player progress (s/he can jump farer), but also something that can hinder him/her, potentially leading to catastrophic (or hilarious) consequences when gravity turns negative.

More specifically, these are the main changes.

LEVEL DESIGN

Turned the larger crater in a lava pit

Turned the platforms at the end of the smaller crater in the beginning of an ascension process, leading the player to the end of the level

GAMEPLAY

Modified few scripts so to reduce gravity once an enemy is destroyed

UI

Added UI elements to keep track of gravity

Added a unique UI page for when the player's gravity turns negative, with a unique game over
